The Idea
PM Sims is a "flight simulator" for Product Managers — a platform where users are dropped into realistic, AI-powered workday scenarios (Slack-style messages from AI colleagues, half-written PRDs to finish, stakeholder reviews) and scored across core PM competencies like prioritisation, written communication, stakeholder management, data judgement, and scope discipline. After each simulation, users receive a detailed post-mortem report showing where they excelled, where they dropped points, and what a top-performing PM would have done differently.

Aspiring PMs (career switchers, MBA students, junior APMs), PM bootcamp graduates looking for practice, and companies hiring or training PMs.
What's Built
The prototype is ruthlessly scoped to one complete simulation scenario (a "Day 1 as a PM" scenario) with the following:
- Landing page with value prop and CTA to sign up
- Auth (sign-up, login, logout)
- Scenario selection screen showing 1-3 available simulations (only one playable in MVP)
- Simulation engine: A Slack-style chat interface where the user interacts with 3 AI personas (Designer, Engineer, CEO) across a single scenario involving a feature prioritisation decision. The user reads messages, responds, and makes decisions.
- PRD writing task: A half-written PRD the user must complete inline during the simulation
- Scoring engine: After the sim ends, the backend evaluates the user's responses via LLM and scores across 5 dimensions
- Post-mortem report: A results page showing scores, dimension breakdown, and "what a top PM would have done" tips
- Dashboard: Shows the user's past simulation results and scores over time
Explicitly out of scope for MVP: Multiple difficulty levels, certifications, B2B admin panel, custom company scenarios, real-time AI voice interactions, payment/billing.
