The Idea
MechTrak is a full-stack machine maintenance platform that lets factories, warehouses, and industrial facilities enroll every machine they own, track maintenance schedules, log repairs, and access an AI assistant trained on machine-specific documentation and repair history. The MVP proves the core loop: register machines → schedule preventive maintenance → log work orders → surface insights via an AI chatbot — creating the data flywheel that becomes the moat. Revenue comes from per-machine subscriptions with a built-in spare parts marketplace.
Who It's For
Operations managers and maintenance supervisors at mid-size manufacturing plants, food/beverage facilities, and warehouses with 50-500 machines — large enough to feel pain, small enough to not have SAP.
What's Built
In scope:
- User auth (facility manager signs up, invites technicians)
- Machine enrollment with QR code generation
- Preventive maintenance (PM) schedule creation (quarterly by default)
- Work order creation, assignment, and completion logging
- Spare parts catalog (browse + request, no real checkout)
- AI chatbot per machine (seeded with machine type/docs, answers repair questions)
- Dashboard with upcoming PMs, open work orders, machine health overview
Out of scope for MVP:
- IoT sensor integration / camera-based predictive alerts
- Real parts ordering & shipping logistics
- Mobile-native app (responsive web is sufficient)
- Multi-facility / enterprise hierarchy
