The Idea
A direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand that reverse-engineers cult fast food sauces (Chick-fil-A Sauce, Big Mac Sauce, In-N-Out Spread, etc.) and sells better-for-you bottled versions online. The platform features a bold, TikTok-native brand identity, single-bottle and bundle purchasing, a monthly subscription ("The Stash"), and content-driven product pages built around blind taste-test social proof. Think Dossier for condiments.
Who It's For
Fast-food-loving millennials and Gen Z (ages 22-38) who follow food content on TikTok, care about ingredient quality, and spend $50-150/month on food delivery. They want the taste without the guilt — and they want the unboxing to be Instagram-worthy.
What's Built
Build a fully functional DTC storefront as a Next.js web application (not Shopify — we want full control over the brand experience, subscription logic, and content-rich product pages). The MVP includes:
- Marketing homepage with hero video embed, value proposition, product lineup preview, and email waitlist capture
- Product catalog page showing 5 launch SKUs with "inspired by" branding
- Individual product detail pages with ingredient comparison tables (ours vs. original), nutrition facts, and embedded TikTok taste-test videos
- Shopping cart with single-bottle, bundle ("The Lineup"), and subscription ("The Stash") options
- Stripe Checkout integration for one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions
- User authentication (sign-up, login, logout) for account/order management
- User dashboard showing order history and active subscriptions
- Admin panel for managing products, viewing orders, and tracking waitlist sign-ups
- Email waitlist capture for pre-launch and out-of-stock scenarios
Explicitly out of scope for MVP: Inventory/fulfillment integration (ShipBob), real payment processing (use Stripe test mode), mobile app, retail/wholesale portal, affiliate/referral system, blog/CMS.
